16-Unit Acoustic Tower

1.6 m tall — the low-frequency output of twenty pairs of subwoofers

The Acoustic Tower is BitDiamond’s flagship acoustic tower. Its hexagonal honeycomb sealed geometry achieves 100% spatial fill and isotropic sampling, which avoids high-frequency spatial aliasing. 16 units of 120 mm ultra-slim transducers are stacked vertically inside a 1.5 L micro-sealed rear chamber; together with active anti-phase rear cancellation (AAIM) they deliver the low-frequency energy of twenty pairs of oversized subwoofers within a physical cavity of just 1.5 L. A constrained damping layer (CLD) composite lines the interior wall, so high-frequency absorption and structural vibration decoupling happen at the same time. At 120 × 140 × 1600 mm the entire column can be recessed flush or mounted against a wall, cutting more than 70% of the footprint a conventional fifteen-pair audiophile system would need.

Design notes

01

Zero-footprint wall mounting

At a 120 mm enclosure depth the whole column can be recessed into a wall or mounted flush against it, and the vertical line source delivers even coverage at -3 dB/m, effectively suppressing early reflections.

02

An infinite cavity inside 1.5 L

AAIM uses a negative impedance converter to actively cancel low-frequency standing waves inside the 1.5 L rear chamber, making the enclosure nearly acoustically transparent in the low-frequency band.

03

CLD constrained damping layer

A composite absorptive structure on the inner wall deals with mid- and high-frequency standing waves and cabinet-wall vibration at once, suppressing structure-borne sound.

04

Modular expansion

DIP-8 standard socketed modules reserve DSP and driver expansion slots, so the system can be upgraded by hot-swapping modules without replacing the enclosure.
